Audrey C. Joellenbeck

Mrs. Audrey Joellenbeck of Chatham, IL formerly of Okawville, departed this life in Reflections Memory Care in Chatham on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 8:20 A.M. She had attained the age of 98 years, 3 months, and 7 days.

Audrey was born in Addieville on April 11, 1925, the daughter of Edward and Marie (nee Pruehsner) Bohbrink. She was baptized in the Zion United Church of Christ in Addieville on May 13, 1925, and confirmed at Zion on April 2, 1939. Audrey was united in marriage to Arthur G. Joellenbeck in the parsonage of the St. Peter’s Church in Okawville on November 9, 1946, and he preceded her in death on June 10, 2013.

Mrs. Joellenbeck was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother, and cherished spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Okawville and was a longtime member of the Okawville American Legion Post Auxiliary.  

Left to mourn her passing are her two daughters, Peggy Maschhoff and husband Robert of Kerney, MO and Lori Frederking and husband Duane of Chatham; six grandchildren, Jason Maschhoff and wife Tania, Andrew Maschhoff and wife Anita, Angela Gentry and husband Kelly, Joshua Gaebe and wife Dana, Jenna Ford and husband James, and Ryan Frederking and wife Madeline; 15 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Joan Bohbrink of Jenks, OK; numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Gaebe; five siblings, Everett Bohbrink and his wife LuVerne, Celeste Hohlt and her husband Wilbert, Doris Krohne and her husband Ab, Alice Heseman-Thompson and her husband Reimond, and Edward “Buddy” Bohbrink Jr. 

In accordance with the wishes of Mrs. Joellenbeck, private funeral services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Cemetery and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
