Storm Damage Clean-Up Continues

The clean up continues in St. Libory, Okawville, Venedy, Nashville and other areas hit by the June 30 storm packing extremely high winds in a multi-county area.
Local volunteers, municipal employees and volunteers with agencies are removing fallen trees and limbs.
Inmates at the Vandalia Correctional Center helped the Nashville Street Department load limbs Thursday and Friday. Eleven inmates assisted, who were accompanied by four guards.
The LERT (Lutheran Early Response Team) started chain saw work in the county Friday, July 7. The crew of about 20 from Illinois and Indiana are scheduled to work until July 15.
About 200 people have requested help with limb/tree cleanup, said EMA Director Matt Bierman….
