Kimberly L. Baumgartner
Kimberley Louise (Koepke) Baumgartner, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2023. Much like her favorite color, yellow, she brought warmth, love, and joy into the lives of everyone she met. Her vibrant spirit and caring nature will forever be cherished in our hearts.
Kim was born on June 30, 1957 in Richmond Heights, MO. She grew up in Okawville, IL. Kim worked Civil Service for 30 years until her retirement in 2012. It was through her career she made many lifelong friendships.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia, née Mellein, Sibert and Charles Koepke, and two brothers, Craig Mellein and Steven Koepke.
Kim’s legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched. Left to mourn her passing are her sons, Ryan (Nicole) Roehrig and Robert (Allie) Roehrig; grandchildren, Parker, Reese, and Emmylou Roehrig; step father, Robert Sibert; siblings, Loring Mellein, Charles Koepke Jr., Michael Koepke, Patrick (Dana Karch) Koepke, Christine (Stephen) Dunaway, and James (Melissa) Laughlin; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Her smile was captivating, lighting up any room she entered with its warmth and genuine happiness. Her laughter was infectious, bringing joy to everyone around her. Kim will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warmth, generosity, and beautiful smile will forever remain in our hearts.
A private ceremony to celebrate Kim’s life will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at St. Barbara’s Catholic Cemetery in Okawville. Family and close friends will come together to honor her memory and pay their final respects. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation P.O. Box 955423 St. Louis, MO 63195-5423.
