Georgirene A. Brazinski
Georgirene “Georgie” A. Brazinski, age 90, of Coulterville passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at 1:40 p.m., in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Georgirene was born on November 16, 1932, in Pinckneyville, a daughter to Louis and Elizabeth (Miller) Epplin. She married Frank Brazinski on May 28, 1955, and they enjoyed 68 years of marriage, and he survives. She was very active at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Lively Grove, serving as their organist for over 35 years, as well as being an avid quilter. She enjoyed participating in V.F.W. and American Legion activities with her husband. Her lifelong vocation was as a housewife and farmer. She is responsible for bringing and raising pigs on what is now the Brazinski Pork Farm.
Survivors include her husband, Frank; four sons, Frank Jr. (Lynne) Brazinski of Coulterville; James Brazinski, of Coulterville; John Brazinski of Columbia; and Mark (Ann Marie) Brazinski of Valrico, FL; two daughters, Jeanne (Raymond) Wacker of Carbondale, and Elaine (Joseph) Michlitsch of Edwardsville; four grandchildren, Lindsay Puckett, Brittany McElveen, and Jordan and Jacob Brazinski; one great-grandson, Noah McElveen; sister-in-law, Shirley Epplin of Marissa; and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves to mourn her passing are her caregivers Jena Hopkins, Lexi Johnson, and Jenn Holcomb.
She was preceded in death by her parents and all eight of her siblings.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Lively Grove, on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Christopher Anyanwu officiating. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Lively Grove.
Visitation will be at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Lively Grove on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m., in the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Disease Research or St. Anthony Cemetery.
