Jill A. (Wisely) Brown
Jill Ann Brown (nee Wisely), age 59, of Oakdale, passed away at 9:23 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville.
Jill was born on September 6, 1963 in Pinckneyville, the youngest child to Charles V. Wisely and Wilma J. Wisely (nee Dickey). Jill graduated From Nashville Community High School in 1981 and attended Wilma Boyd travel school in Pittsburgh, PA in 1982. She worked as a travel agent on and off through the years while also owning a house cleaning business.
Jill was an active member of the United Presbyterian Church, Oakdale, where she served as an elder. Jill loved to be outside all summer long. She would race anyone to the nearest pool and was constantly trying to make her way to a beach. Above all, she loved being a mother and grandmother. She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her second and third grandchildren due to arrive in July and December. One day their fathers will tell them all about their feisty and strong-willed Grandma Jill.
Survivors include her two sons, Matthew (Tosha) Brown and Nicholas (Hope) Brown; sister, Susan (Mike) Hillyard; brothers, Paul (Ruth) Wisely and Jimmy (Denise) Wisely; grandchildren, Josephine Brown, Sutton Brown due in July, and Baby Brown due in December, all of Oakdale; stepdaughter, Ashley (Jonathan) Heatherly; step-grandchildren, Keeley and Kinsley Ortega and Ellie and Jonathan Heatherly, all of Nashville; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who she cared for deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to all who helped Jill over the last two years while she battled many health-related obstacles. Your love and support never went unnoticed.
Funeral service will be held at Oakdale Presbyterian Church, Oakdale, on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with Phil Carson officiating. Interment will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Oakdale.
Visitation will be at Oakdale Presbyterian Church on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Oakdale Presbyterian Church, Oakdale.
