Nashville Man Takes Honor Flight To Washington D.C.
Lester Campbell of Nashville saw how the country honors its veterans on a Land Of Lincoln Veterans Honor Flight to Washington D.C. April 4th.
His daughter, Sharon Schuessler, accompanied him as his chaperone on the one day excursion departing from Springfield airport. A total of 90 veterans and 90 chaperones were on the flight. The group filled four charter buses for sightseeing.
Campbell was among the three Korean War era veterans. There was one WWII veteran, and the remainder were Vietnam War veterans. “ Korean War era veterans are scarce, said the 91 year old Campbell.
