Marcella C. Lee

Marcella Catherine Lee (86) of Columbia, IL, passed away on Holy Thursday, April 6, 2023. 

Marcella was born on July 31, 1936, in Washington County, IL the oldest daughter of Frank and Theresa (nee Krus) Kozuszek.

Marcie, as she was fondly known by family and friends, was a loving mom and grandma.  She was very proud of her Polish heritage, and she enjoyed a good polka and quilt bingo.  She was blessed with a green thumb and grew the most beautiful summer and fall flowers, tending to them daily.  Marcie was a good ole fashioned cook and enjoyed cooking family favorites.  But her most pleasurable times were spent with her children, grandchildren, sisters and their families.  She rarely missed a family celebration. Family time was very special to her.

Marcie worked for International Shoe Company for many years.  She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia, IL.

Left to mourn her passing are her two daughters, Cindy Poirot of New Baden, IL and Peggy Cassani and husband Steve of St. Louis, MO; 5 grandchildren, Julie Roberts, Sarah (Joe) Poirot, Crystal (Jake) Brooks, Megan and Katherine Cassani; 4 great grandchildren, Owen and Henry Roberts, Blake and Tripp Brooks; 2 sisters, LaVerne Kramper and Patricia (David) Schuette; Godchild, Lesley Coplen; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, John Poirot; great granddaughter, Parker Brooks; brother-in-law, Leo Kramper and Godchild, Richard Mesey, Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, IL on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 12 P.M. with Fr. Andy Knopik officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville on Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M.

Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials can be made to the St. Ann Catholic School or the Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
