Charles Schleifer
Mr. Charles Schleifer of Nashville, IL, departed this life at Memorial Hospital Shiloh on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 9:05 A.M. He had attained the age of 87 years, 2 months and 21 days.
Mr. Schleifer was born on January 13, 1936, in Nashville, IL, the son of Charles Schleifer and Fern (nee Hafeli) Warren. He was united in marriage to Doris Kruse on November 19, 1955 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Okawvile, IL and she preceded him in death on February 23, 2021.
Charles was a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service where he retired after over 30 years. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville, IL. He enjoyed shooting pool, coaching his kids, going to sporting events and traveling. He cherished the time he got to spend with his family and loved watching his grandchildren.
Left to mourn his passing are his three children, Jeff Schleifer and wife Jane of Maryville, IL, Jill Maschhoff and husband Keith of Smithton, IL and Jason Schleifer and wife Tricia of Okawville, IL; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Chelsie) Schleifer, Sara Schleifer, Justin (Barrie) Maschhoff, Joshua (Kristen) Maschhoff, Devin (Kayla) Maschhoff, Megan and Grant Schleifer; seven great grandchildren, Josie, Kinsey, Weston, Paisley, Morrison, McKinley and one on the way; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 11 A.M. with Pastor David Benning officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Nashville.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville on Thursday from 9 AM until the service hour.
Should friends desire, memorials can be made to the Nashville State Theatre or the Washington County Animal Shelter and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
