County Board Approves Bid for Jail Upgrades

The Washington County Board accepted bids on county jail upgrades and approved culvert replacements during March 14 meeting.
Korte and Luitjohan Contractors, Inc. submitted the lone bid for upgrades to the county jail in the amount of $289,830, which was approved per the recommendation of the building committee.
Upgrades include new locking mechanisms, as well as hardware and mechanics that will help control and monitor those housed in the jail.
The board also approved three culvert replacements, with the costs to be split evenly with township road districts.
