Theresa F. Gill

Theresa Gill of Ashley, IL departed this life at her residence surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 1:35 P.M. She had attained the age of 79 years, 5 months, and 3 days.

Theresa was born in Ashley on October 18, 1943, the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (nee Bauer) Kasban. She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Gill in the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, IL on October 18, 1962, and he survives her passing.

Mrs. Gill worked in the Housekeeping Department of the Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL for several years until her retirement. She was a faithful member of the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom. Theresa loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and playing ball with her kids. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and loved to go out dancing and listening to Polka music. She also enjoyed buying and reselling items at various events around Washington County. 

Left to mourn her passing is her husband, Robert “Bob” Gill of Ashley; three sons, Bobby Joe Gill of Ashley, Kenny Gill and wife Maurya of Ashley, and Larry Gill and wife Kim of Nashville, IL; a brother, Louis Kasban of Ashley; seven grandchildren, Miranda Lloyd and husband Barrett, Andy Gill, Braxton Gill, Ashlee Street and husband Shane, Eric Gill, Logan Gill and wife Jaci, and Lacey Gill and fiancée Austin Edge; five great grandchildren, Mabry, Mason, Austyn, Avery, and Sloane; numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Kasban; and two sisters, Rose Mary Banaszek and Betty Kujawa.

In accordance with the wishes of the family, cremation will be performed.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 11 A.M. with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu officiating. Interment of ashes will be at a later date.

Friends may call at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Radom on Monday from 9 A.M. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, Mass offerings or memorials may be made to St. Michael Cemetery or to the Alzheimer’s Association and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
