Heckert Signs with KC Volleyball Team

Volleyball is Jordyn Heckert’s favorite sport, and her hard work on the court has earned her a chance to keep playing in college.
Heckert recently signed to join the Kaskaskia College Blue Angels volleyball team after four years of making memories on the court.
“I love volleyball because I feel like its my home sport,” Heckert said. “I’ve played basketball and softball, but I always feel the most relaxed when I’m playing volleyball.”
The sport also gave Heckert the best feeling of camaraderie. “I like the bonds that form between your teammates, because it’s such a team sport,” she said.
Okawville coach Deb Frederking is happy to see Heckert going on to play at the next level, but she says Heckert will be difficult to replace.
“She gave us a lot of skills on the court, so we’ll miss her next year,” Frederking said. “We’ll miss having her height, her blocking, her hitting, and her serving.”
In her career, the two-time all-conference player racked up 381 kills, 67 aces to go with 67 blocks.
