George F. Steinkamp

Mr. George Steinkamp of Pontoon Beach, IL, formerly of Venedy, departed this life at his residence on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 6:46 A.M. following a sudden illness. He had attained the age of 73 years, 4 months, and 4 days.

George was born in Belleville, IL on October 17, 1949 the son of Ewald and Eleanora (nee Pieper) Steinkamp. 

Mr. Steinkamp was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ in Johannisburg. He enjoyed watching TV and listening to country music. George was a kind and caring person and a wonderful son and brother.

Left to mourn his passing is a sister, Jeanette Segelhorst of Venedy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Paul Segelhorst.

In accordance with the wishes of the family, cremation was performed.

Private graveside services with interment of ashes will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. John Cemetery at Johannisburg, and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
