New Police Chief Sworn in Monday
By Travis Volz
Adam Hall was sworn in as Okawville’s new police chief during Monday’s meeting of the village board.
Hall, who is taking over following the retirement of Chief Steve Millikin, knows the area well.
“I’m from the Mt. Vernon area originally, but I’ve been in Washington County for a while now,” he said. “I worked with the county sheriff’s office in different positions.”
Hall says he was a corrections officer for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office starting in 2008. In the ensuing years, he has also worked as a sergeant at the jail and as an admin sergeant as a deputy.
