Dora “Dodie” D. Mierkowski
Mrs. Dora “Dodie” D. Mierkowski of Nashville, IL, departed this life at Friendship Manor Healthcare Center in Nashville on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at 1:51 PM. She had attained the age of 91 years, 2 months, and 2 days.
Mrs. Mierkowski was born on December 12, 1931 in Ashley, IL, the daughter of Edwin and Faye (Smith) Roethemeyer. She was united in marriage to John Mierkowski on June 27, 1953 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2012.
Dodie worked as a cook for the Nashville Grade School District 49 from 1967 to 1996. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville, IL, where she was a Cheer Guild. Dodie was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, quilting, gardening, and playing cards.
Left to mourn her passing are her two daughters, Shelley Rae Rybacki and her husband Don and Cathy Ellen Lietz and her husband Lindsey all of Nashville, IL; four grandsons, Jarod Rybacki, Mitchell (Jody) Rybacki, Tyler (fianceé Erica Jateff) Lietz and Bob (fianceé Samantha Stine) Lietz; five great grandchildren, Tommy, Hank, Sawyer, Hannah, and Aubrey; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Marion Towell and her brother, Donald “Red” Roethemeyer.
Funeral services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville, IL on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 11 AM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville on Monday from 9 AM until service hour.
Should friends desire, memorials can be made to the American Legion Post 110 or the Washington County Animal Shelter and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
