Edward J. Schaepperkoetter
Edward J. Schaepperkoetter, of Shiloh, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Ed was born November 23, 1952 in Belleville to Doris (nee Luhning) and Alfred Schaepperkoetter. He spent much of his childhood outside, tending to the family garden. A trucker for most of his life, Ed began his career as a tandem truck driver for LaFore Truck Service. After retiring, Ed loved spending time with family, going on hunting and fishing trips, gardening, and weekly game nights.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Joyce (Jerry, Sr.) Mohr, and Carol Kiefer, and brother-in-law Robert Isselhardt.
Surviving are his children Kelsey Schaepperkoetter of St. Libory, Tim (Jennifer) Kvale of Edwardsville, and Kimberly (Benjamin) Going of Nashville; five grandchildren Ava and Claire Kvale, and Kylie, Jaelyn, and Sophia Going; siblings Patricia (Robert) Sugg, Alfred (Penny) Schaepperkoetter and Annilene Isselhardt; former wife Debbie Schaepperkoetter of St. Libory; and numerous nephews and nieces, including special niece Kay Good of Shiloh.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Friday, February 3 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O’Fallon, and 1:30 – 3 p.m., Sunday, February 5 at the funeral home.
Funeral sService is Sunday, February 5 at 3 p.m. at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, with Pastor Donald Jones officiating.
