Questions About Roof Bids Raised by Contractor

The roofing project on the Okawville Senior Center is on hold following questions that were raised about the bidding process.

During the December meeting, the Okawville Village Board approved a contract with D.E. Martin Roofing Co. to replace the senior center roof at a cost of $65,585 per the recommendation of the Personnel and Property Committee.

Joseph Kehrer, the owner of D7 Roofing in New Baden, said he submitted a bid that was around $18,000 less than the one approved by the board.
