Jean M. Gaebe
Mrs. Jean M. Gaebe of Addieville, IL departed this life at Washington County Hospital Extended Care in Nashville, IL on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 9:00 P.M. She had attained the age of 92 years, 10 months and 11 days.
Mrs. Gaebe was born in St. Louis, MO on January 19, 1930, the daughter of Forrest and Anna Mae (nee Ayers) Shaw. She was united in marriage to Benjamin H. Gaebe, Jr. on October 13, 1950, in Pigget, AR, and he preceded her in death on September 17, 2004.
Jean was a homemaker and a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Addieville, IL. She was also a member of the Addieville Community Club, Okawville Women’s Club, Ladies Bridge Club, and the Nashville Ladies Golf League. Jean loved cooking, baking, traveling and she enjoyed having cocktail hour with all of her friends and family. Jean was known to be a chocolate connoisseur and she loved her family and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left to mourn her passing are her three sons, Ben Gaebe III and wife Jane, Steve Gaebe and wife Kay, and Cole Gaebe and wife Susan all of Addieville, IL; five grandchildren, Lisa (Stephen) Clark II, Nicholas Gaebe, Joshua (Dana) Gaebe, Stephanie (David Smith) Gaebe and Chance Gaebe; seven great grandchildren, Dylan and Riley Clark, Lillian, Eleanor, Harrison and Forrest Gaebe and Skylar Smith; a brother, Robert (Charlotte) Shaw of Freeburg, IL; a sister-in-law, Patricia Shaw of Okawville, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Gary Shaw and sister, June Shaw Ellerbusch.
Funeral services will be held at the Zion United Church of Christ in Addieville, IL on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 11 A.M. with Rev. Bill Groennert officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Zion United Church of Christ in Addieville on Saturday from 9 A.M. until the service hour.
Should friends desire, memorials can be made to the Family Hospice, Zion United Church of Christ, Addieville Community Club or the UCC Food Pantry and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
