Lady Rockets Beat Benton in Opener Monday Night

The Okawville Lady Rockets opened the season with a 43-28 win over Benton at the Nashville Thanksgiving Tournament Monday.
Alayna Kraus had a big game, dropping 20 points to lead the Lady Rockets to the win.
Okawville led by 13 points at halftime. Benton cut into the lead early in the third quarter, but the Lady Rockets righted the ship and maintained their lead in the fourth quarter.
Kraus did the heavy lifting in the scoring column. Brynn Rhodes backed her up with seven points, Megan Rennegarbe added seven more, Madi Wienstroer finished with four, and Elly Frederking and Caroline Tepe each had two points in the win.
Okawville faced tournament host Nashville Tuesday. The Lady Rockets will wrap up pool play against Wesclin Saturday at 10:30 p.m. Final round games will be Saturday night.
Next week, Okawville will travel to Woodlawn Tuesday before the home opener Thursday at the O-Rena.
