Volleyball Season Ends With Loss In Regional Championship Game

The Okawville Lady Rockets volleyball team played its best match of the season in front of the biggest crowd of the season during the regional championship at the Orena Thursday. The exciting three set match ended with the top seed Valmeyer moving on to the sectionals by a score of 25-21, 17-25, 25-22. 

The Valmeyer Pirates started the match strong and jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the first set, a deficit that the Lady Rockets could not overcome. In the second set, the Lady Rockets jumped ahead and never relinquished the lead, forcing a third set. The final set was close throughout, with tied scores at 18-18, 19-19, and 20-20. The final few points determined the regional championship.
