Postseason Volleyball Starts This Week

The Okawville Lady Rockets volleyball team played well but lost to the conference champion Carlyle Indians in three sets, 25-23, 16-25, 25-15.
Maci Wolf led the offense with ten kills. Jordyn Heckert had seven kills and four blocks. Raelyn Obermeier had twelve assists and twelve points on serve. Ady Harre had fourteen digs and six points on serve. Megan Rennegarbe had nineteen digs and six blocks. Madi Wienstroer had 20 digs and a season-high 41 serve receptions. Kylie Going had fourteen assists.
The Lady Rockets finished the regular season with a 17-16 record, including 4-6 in the Cahokia conference.
Postseason Play This Week
Okawville hosts the 1A regional this year. Valmeyer is the top seed. The Lady Rockets opened regional play on Tuesday night against Sandoval at 6 p.m. With a victory, they would play on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. against the winner of Father McGivney-Lebanon. The regional championship is on Thursday night at 6pm. Come out and watch the Lady Rockets.
