Alphonse Lamczik

Mr. Alphonse Lamczik of DuBois, IL, departed this life at Centralia Manor in Centralia, IL on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 5:22 A.M.  He had attained the age of 88 years and 9 days.

Alphonse was born on August 17, 1934, in DuBois, IL, the son of Peter and Mary (Kuberski) Lamczik.

Alphonse was a dedicated farmer and enjoyed doing the day-to-day operations on the farm.  Al loved working at St. Michael’s Church and School as a janitor for many years and maintaining the cemetery.  He loved the socialization that came with it. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Radom and was also a member of the Nashville Knights of Columbus Council 4384, DuQuoin Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly 0195 and the Washington County Farm Bureau.  Alphonse loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them and visiting with friends.

Left to mourn his passing are his four sisters, Barbara Joyner of Irondale, MO, Dolores Gerdes of Bartelso, IL, Caroline Winkeler and husband Henry of Ashley, IL and Clara Peters and husband Bernard of DuBois, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Loretta Restoff and her husband Stanley and Theresa Lamczik; a brother, Carl Lamczik; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Joyner and Paul Gerdes.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Michael Catholic Church of Radom, IL on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 10 A.M. with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu and Fr. Andy Knopik officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Ashley, IL on Friday from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Saturday from 8 A.M. until 9:30 A.M.

Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials can be made to the St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael Cemetery or Centralia Manor and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
