Dudeck’s First Teaching Job at Okawville is the Job He Wanted
By Travis Volz
Having grown up in the area, Theodore Dudeck is very familiar with Okawville. As the new history teacher, he will get to know the community even better.
Dudeck was hired as the new history, civics, psychology and sociology teacher at Okawville, a job that he wanted as soon as he heard about it.
“I grew up in New Athens playing baseball and basketball against Okawville, and I was always struck by how much the community rallied around the students,” he said. “As soon as I heard about the job, I knew it was the place I wanted to be.”
After graduating from New Athens, Dudeck attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he earned a degree in history education.
