Hoyleton Youth and Family Services Planning Major Upgrade to Facilities
By Travis Volz
Hoyleton Youth and Family Services held an informational meeting about a planned expansion of facilities in Hoyleton last Thursday.
Around two dozen residents of Hoyleton attended the meeting to hear HYFS President and CEO Chris Cox discuss plans for the project, which includes building a new campus just north of the existing property.
Cox said that the plan is for construction of six new cottages, each with six beds, serving a total of 36 residents. The current facilities serve approximately 40 residents.
Construction of the new cottages is part of the planned first phase. The second stage will involve tearing down the old buildings, including the two-story brick administration building.
