Schools Keeping Safety Top Priority

School shootings are topping the headlines following the incident in Uvalde, Texas. But area school districts always have safety as the main headline.
West Washington County Unit District 10 Superintendent Keith Senior said that school security is always the top priority.
“We’ve been planning for these types of scenarios for years, not just since what happened in Texas,” Senior said. “We are not behind on anything when it comes to security.”
Over the last couple of years, teachers and staff have been through multiple days of training, learning about topics from the 4E (Educate, Evade, Escape and Engage) program to Stop the Bleed emergency medical training.
