Top Ag Acquires Breese Grain

The Top Ag Cooperative has expanded to serve the Breese area by purchasing Breese Grain’s facilities in Breese and Posey.

CEO/General Manager Kevin Hartkemeyer explained that the acquisition occurred after Breese Grain owners Duane Zachry and sons Brad and Brett approached Top Ag last year as it considered options for the 50 year old company. That was followed by discussions on their mutual interests.

“They were very interested in the new owners serving their customers into the future in both feed and grain, and we were looking at being able to better serve the customers we already have in that area, as well as their customers,” Hartkemeyer said.
