Rockets Blanked 11-0 Against Mater Dei

The Okawville Rockets baseball team was blanked 11-0 in the opener Monday at Mater Dei.

Mater Dei struck for two runs in the home half of the first inning, and the Knights added to their lead in the second and third innings on the way to the win.

Landon Schmersahl and Levi Traub accounted for the Rockets’ two hits.

Okawville was scheduled to open the season Saturday in Nashville against Rockford-Lutheran, but the game was cancelled due to weather.

Another road game at Trico was on the schedule Tuesday before the Rockets returned to Okawville for their home opener Wednesday against Valmeyer.

Marissa will be in town Thursday before the Rockets travel to Mascoutah Monday and host Red Bud Tuesday.
