Bids Solicited For Okawville Fire Department Building

Bids are being solicited to construct a new building for the Okawville Fire Department. The site is on south side of Route 177, near the Dairy Queen.

The 11,040 square foot building is expected to cost about $1.1 million. It will be financed through a USDA matching funds grant and available Fire Department funds. No tax referendum is needed.

The new building will replace the much smaller station adjacent to the Village Hall.

Bids must be submitted to the Fire Department District office by April 14.

Construction is expected to begin late May/early June, and be completed in 270 days.

Curry & Associates Engineers of Nashville is the architect for the project.
