The Washington County Board voted to increase salaries of elected officials at its meeting last week.
Effective December 1, salaries will be increased $1,750 the first year and $1,250 the next three years.
The salary for the County Clerk, Circuit Clerk, Supervisor of Assessors, and Treasurer is now $59,700 and for Sheriff is $62,700.
The new salary structure starts December 1, when elected officials begin new terms in office.
County Health Department Administrator Elizabeth Lehde told the board that the number of reported COVID cases is not necessarily a valid number. The results of home testing are not reported to the state, and some people who have symptoms do not take a test, she said.
Lehde also presented the Health Department annual report.
