Renken Appointed Washington County Circuit Clerk

Following the untimely passing of Cynthia Barczewski last month, the Washington County Board appointed Andrea Renken as acting circuit clerk.

Renken, who has been chief deputy circuit clerk since 2016, is prepared to carry on the duties following the death of her mentor.

“It’s a tough situation for me personally, because I’ve worked in the circuit clerk’s office since Cindy was first elected in 2008,” Renken said.

Though Barczewski’s death came in the middle of the term, Renken said she had helped to prepare everyone to carry on the functions of the circuit clerk.
