Lady Rockets Win Regional Over Dupo

The Lady Rockets took home the trophy from the Dupo Regional on Thursday night with a 53-29 win over host Dupo. 

Okawville got off to a solid start behind three first quarter three pointers by sophomore Alayna Kraus. Briley Rhodes had six points in the first quarter, including one three pointer, to get the Okawville offense off to a solid start also. 

The Lady Rockets pulled out to a 14-point lead early in the contest and finished quarter number one leading 19-7. 

Megan Rennegarbe, Madisyn Wienstroer, Sydney Tebbe and Raelyn Obermeier each scored points in quarter number two to help the Lady Rockets extend their lead. Okawville outscored Dupo 14-5 in the second quarter to lead 33-12 at the half. 

Okawville further extended the lead to 43-19 after three quarters. Senior Raegan Luechtefeld had nine fourth quarter points to help the Lady Rockets cruise to a 53-29. 

Coach Burianek stated, “I am so proud of this group of ladies. They really are the true definition of team. They support one another in all things and will do absolutely whatever the team needs. They play with a tremendous amount of intensity and heart.”
