Junior Lady Rockets Volleyball

The Junior Lady Rockets volleyball teams at all grade levels continued to improve their play throughout a stretch of three straight days with conference matches last week.
The eighth grade team began this stretch by falling to Aviston 25-18, 25-14. Caroline Tepe led the way with five kills, five points on serve, seven digs and two assists. Rylan Senior had six points on serve and two assists. Jaelyn Going had nine digs at the libero position, Emma Borgmann had two kills, and Carly Schmidt had two assists.
The team then bounced back and won against Germantown 25-22, 26-24. Tepe had eight points on serve, five assists, and four digs. Senior had seven points on serve and four kills. Going had eleven digs. Borgmann had two kills. Lily Helbig had four points on serve.
The Junior Lady Rockets continued their improved play with a close match against Bartelso, losing 25-23, 25-21. The team had late leads in both sets but could not hold on against a good Bartelso team. Tepe had ten points on serve, five assists, and two kills. Going had nine digs. Kate Borrenpohl had six points on serve. Both Senior and Borgmann had two kills.
The team then struggled and lost to a good Nashville team 25-17, 25-13. While Going anchored the defense with twelve digs, the offense could only manage five team kills and eleven points on serve. The Lady Rockets now have an overall record of 2-7, including a 2-3 record in Clinton County conference play.
