Dennis G. Witte

Mr. Dennis G. Witte of Nashville, IL, departed this life at Washington County Hospital in Nashville, IL on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 6:15 AM.  He had attained the age of 73 years, 9 months and 12 days.

Mr. Witte was born on April 17, 1948, at Centralia, IL, the son of Bruno and Mildred (nee Vogt) Witte.  He was united in marriage to Terri Kemnetz on May 3, 1975, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville, IL and she survives his passing.

Dennis was a lifelong farmer and a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Minden, IL, where he served in many roles including trustee.  He was a member of the Washington County Farm Bureau and a faithful school board member at Trinity Lutheran School in Nashville, IL.  Dennis enjoyed following all the local sports teams and he loved his grandchildren and farming.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife Terri Witte of Nashville, IL; three children, Michael Witte and wife Jill of Nashville; Douglas Witte of St. Louis, MO and Angela Kohlbrecher and husband Steve of Aviston, IL; four grandchildren, Chandler, Bennet and Ava Witte and Nolan Kohlbrecher; brother, Allen Witte of Nashville; sister-in-law, Eunice Witte of Nashville; mother-in-law, Esther Kemnetz of Nashville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Witte and father-in-law, Charles Kemnetz.

Funeral services were held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Minden, IL on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 11 AM with Rev. Timothy Mueller officiating.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Friends called at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Minden on Thursday from 5 PM until 8 PM and on Friday from 9 AM until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the ALS Association or the St. John’s Lutheran Church   and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
