Residents Address School Board, Baseball Coach Hired

By Travis Volz

Members of the community once again addressed the West Washington County Unit District 10 Board meeting last Wednesday about COVID issues.

Earlier this month, the board heard from community members during an emergency meeting to approve the proposed Test to Stay protocols that eased COVID restrictions.

The regular monthly meeting, which was moved up one day due to the Okawville Junior High Junior Lady Rockets game at the SIJHSAA State Semifinals, also saw three people express their views to the board.

Michelle Meentemeyer, the first speaker, she expressed her views about the district’s efforts to minimize the spread of COVID.

She began her remarks by telling board members that she had served on the board in the past, and that she had walked away from her job as a registered nurse due to her personal beliefs that the medical community was deceiving the public.
