County Board Tentatively Plans Testing Of Unvaccinated Employees

By Debbby Stricker

The County Board discussed that implementing a policy regarding unvaccinated employees will soon be necessary at its meeting last week.

No action was taken, although the OSHA deadline for a policy is January 24.

Since the county has more than 100 employees, it will be affected by the OSHA mandate.

A total of 35 out of the County’s 120 employees who have not gotten the vaccine. The county  will liklely require unvaccinated employees have weekly testing to keep their employment, and that they wear masks.

Testing would be at Doehring Pharmacy, paid by the state/federal government. The Pharmacy will accommodate workers by scheduling before work.

Board Chairman Dave Meyer said that a special meeting could be called soon to adopt a policy.

The on-going issue of the operation of the 911 dispatching was discussed at the meeting by Ryan Wiedwilt, a member of the 911 Committee and Addieville Fire Department Chief.  He and 911 Coordinator Janessa Rhymer spent 2 1/2 hours observing the operation and talking to the dispatching staff.
