Woodworking Is Part-time Job And Hobby For Okawville Man

Paul Ross has turned a woodworking hobby into a part-time job. He makes rocking horses, walking canes, tables, cradles, poker tables and much more at his workshop at his home.
The retired equipment operator said that he likes to keep busy. “I can work out here every day,” he said. “I always have something to do.”
In his earlier working years Ross was a carpenter, so wood working comes naturally for him.
The most unique piece Ross has created is a one-of-a kind U.S. map. Each state is made from the wood of the state tree. That include redwood for California, pecan for Texas, palm for Florida, and white oak for Illinois. Several states have the same state tree.
