Friendship Manor Staff In Salary Negotiations

Friendship Manor employees and the administration are still very far apart in contract negotiations, said Teamster representative Jason Ashmore. Employees voted down the most recent offer.
The wage gap is the sticking point, he said. “The administration is offering barely over minimum wage,” Ashmore said.
“These are employees caring for the most vulnerable senior citizens, in an understaffed and high-COVID risk occupation,”
Vacation, sick time, and holidays have already been negotiated, Ashmore said.
