Solid Finish for Schleifer at State Cross Country Meet

Okawville Rocket cross country runner Grant Schleifer held his own against the best runners in the state at the IHSA State Meet last Saturday in Peoria.

Schliefer, a junior at Okawville, finished in the top third at the event at 75th overall with a time of 16:20.5.

A total of 260 harriers from across the state competed in the event at Detweiler Park in Peoria.

Schleifer’s finish was the best by a Rocket since Jacob Schwankhaus finished 45th overall in 2015.
