Imogene D. Watts of Nashville, IL departed this life at the Washington County Hospital-Extended Care in Nashville, IL on Monday, November 1, 2021, at 7:27 P.M. She had attained the age of 96 years and 12 days.
Mrs. Watts was born on October 19, 1925, in Harrisburg, IL the daughter of Lawrence and Pauline (nee Moehlenkamp) Decker. She was united in marriage to James L. “Bud” Watts on October 31, 1948, and he preceded her in death on August 28, 2016.
Imogene was a homemaker, farm record keeper, a member of the Washington County Historical Society and a devoted lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Nashville, IL, where she served as Clerk of Session, Sunday school teacher, and was a mainstay of the Presbyterian Women’s Organization. She was an accomplished chef and her gardening was an art in itself, especially the flower display along the driveway to her home.
Left to mourn her passing is her three sons, Tom Watts and wife Kathy of Nashville, IL, Bill Watts of Nashville, IL and Eric Watts and wife Eve of Omaha, NE; 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, nieces, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, stepmother, Frieda Wedel Decker; two brothers, Lewis and Loren Decker and a grandson, James Brian Watts.
Per the wishes of Imogene and her family, cremation was performed and a memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Nashville, IL on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 2 PM with Rev. Phil Carson officiating. Interment of Ashes will follow in the Vernor/Masonic Cemetery in Nashville, IL.
Friends may call at the First Presbyterian Church in Nashville on Saturday from 1 PM until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the NCHS Music Boosters or the Alzheimer’s Association and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
