Schleifer Headed to State Cross County Meet

Okawville cross country runner Grant Schleifer qualified for the IHSA State Meet Saturday.

Schleifer finished eighth overall at the Trenton Sectional with a time of 16:39.66 to punch his ticket to Peoria.

Two Lady Rockets also competed at the Trenton Sectional: Lydia Luechtefeld (38th – 21:18.94) and Chloe Tepe (45th – 21:39.42). Neither harrier qualified for state.

Schleifer will run again this Saturday at Detweiller Park in Peoria.
