Nashville Man Goes Up, Up and Away

It took years for Brad Haege to turn a general interest in hot air ballooning into an actual hobby, but now he is making up for lost time.

The Nashville man has been soaring above the treetops in his own hot air balloon over the last couple of weeks, putting in the time and training to become licensed to operate his own balloon.

Haege said he has had an interest in flying since his high school days. Surprisingly, his job as a bank manager put him into contact with a group of flyers that really sparked his interest.

“I work as a manager at US Bank in Centralia, and we’re one of the sponsors of the Centralia Balloon Festival,” Haege said. “Being involved in that really gave me the bug to get into it.”
