Washington County lost its 33rd resident to COVID in the last week, even as the total number of cases remains low.
The Washington County Health Department reported that a man in his 70s died as a result of COVID complications, the first death reported since early September.
As has been the case since the start of the pandemic, hospitalizations and deaths have been trailing indicators to the number of total cases, which have remained low over the last several weeks.
Since October 13, WCHD reported only eight new cases in the county. None of those cases were among school-age residents.
