Lady Rocket Netters Win 11th Straight
The Okawville Lady Rockets volleyball made it eleven wins in a row with road victories in matches at Chester, Red Bud, and Christ Our Rock.
Okawville traveled to Chester last Tuesday with first place in the Cahokia Conference on the line and won 26-24, 25-21.
Chester played a terrific first set and had a 24-20 lead, but the Lady Rockets won the final six points to pull out the win.
Sydney Tebbe had nine kills, and Heckert had eight kills and seven points on serve. Megan Rennegarbe had nine digs and eight points on serve. Zoe Todd had eleven assists, and Elli Kremmer had seven assists. Madi Wienstroer had five kills and eight digs.
The Lady Rockets then won another road conference match Thursday at Red Bud 25-22, 25-19.
Tebbe had nine kills, seven digs and two blocks. Kremmer had seven assists and nine points on serve, including three aces. Todd had six assists. Rennegarbe had ten digs. Wienstroer had four kills, five points on serve, and eight digs.
The victories at Chester and Red Bud gave the Lady Rockets a two-game lead in the conference standings.
Okawville was able to play the entire roster against Christ our Rock during a 25-14, 25-17 win Monday.
Tebbe again led with eight kills, Heckert had five kills, and Wolf had four kills. The Lady Rockets played four setters, and Todd had six assists, Kremmer had five, Ellie Frederking had four, and Kylie Going had four assists of her own. Tebbe and Frederking both had seven points on serve, and Rennegarbe had six points on serve. Wienstroer led the defense with eleven digs.
Upcoming matches include Chester at home Thursday, at Alton Marquette on Monday, at Wesclin Tuesday, and at home next Wednesday against Lebanon.
The Lady Rockets’ overall record is 15-3, including 6-0 in the Cahokia Conference. They are ranked #22 in the state for 1A schools by Maxpreps.
