Karrick Calls it a Career After Nearly Four Decades at KC
By Travis Volz
After the best part of four decades with Kaskaskia College, Cathy Karrick is finally calling it quits. For good this time.
Even though she had retired from her job as KC’s Director of Public Information last year, Karrick officially ended her career earlier this month as athletic director and coordinator of the Kaskaskia College Sports Association.

A graduate of Nashville High School, Karrick was hired as a part-time coordinator at her alma mater after finishing her degree from McKendree University.
“I was hired by Ruth Barczewski to work ten hours a week,” she said. “It was my first job after college, and I thought it might be a good way to get my foot in the door.”
