Lady Rockets Extend Winning Streak to Five
The Okawville Lady Rockets extended their winning streak to five matches after winning four times at home, including conference matches against Red Bud and Sparta. Their overall record is now 9-3, including a 2-0 start in Cahokia Conference play.
The team began with a win over Red Bud 25-23, 25-8 last Tuesday. Maci Wolf had nine kills, and Sydney Tebbe and Jordyn Heckert each added six kills. Megan Rennegarbe had twelve digs and nine points on serve. Zoe Todd had eight assists and five points on serve, while Ellie Kremmer had seven assists and seven points on serve.
The Lady Rockets then defeated Gibault 25-20, 25-19. Tebbe led the way with eight kills, eight points on serve, seven digs and three assists. Heckert had six kills and two blocks. Rennegarbe had twelve digs and seven points on serve. Todd had ten assists and seven points on serve. Madi Wienstroer had eleven digs and thirteen serve receptions.
The Lady Rockets next defeated Sparta 25-19, 26-24 after a back and forth second set.
The team jumped out to a 16-6 lead, Sparta came roaring back to gain a 24-23 lead, and then the Lady Rockets won the last three points to take the match.
Tebbe again played well with seven kills, nine points on serve, thirteen digs and eleven serve receptions. Heckert had eight kills and two blocks. Rennegarbe had thirteen digs, six points on serve and three kills. Wienstroer had twelve digs. Kremmer had 13 assists, and Todd had ten assists.
The streak continued with the Lady Rockets avenging an earlier loss by demolishing Trico 25-15, 25-3. The lopsided score is a good indicator of how much progress the team has made since the beginning of the season.
Tebbe had nine kills, Heckert had six kills and Wolf had five kills. Todd had twelve assists and Kremmer had eight assists. Rennegarbe had thirteen points on serve and Wienstroer had twelve points on serve. Harre had ten digs.
