Eight Candidates Vie For Okawville Fair Queen
Eight Washington County young women are candidates for Okawville Fair and Wheat Festival Queen.
The judging and coronation pageant will be held Friday, September 17, at 7 p.m. at the Okawville Junior Senior High.
The Queen is selected by a panel of judges, based on interview 35%, speech and communications 30%, beauty and physique 20%, stage presence 15%.
The Queen will receive a treasure chest of cash and gifts from businesses, organizations, and individuals. She will compete at the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant in Springfield in Janaury.
The Junior Miss is selected based on a vote of people attending.
Retiring 2019 Fair Queen Tiffany Thompson will crown the 2021 Queen. Retiring 2019 Junior Miss Sage Hackstadt will crown the new Junior Miss.
The Queen, Junior Miss, and other candidates will ride in the float parade Sunday, September 19 at 2 p.m.
