Nashville Native Making Presence Felt at Packers Training Camp

Though the final depth charts have not been set, Nashville native Royce Newman is in the mix for a starting job on the offensive line for the Green Bay Packers.

Newman earned starts in the Packers’ final two preseason games against the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills last month.

Drafted in the fourth round out of Ole Miss, Newman has distinguished himself during training camp. His hard work may earn him a starting spot when the Packers open their season in New Orleans this weekend.

Newman’s size and athleticism allows for versatility, as he played tackle in college. His two preseason starts for Green Bay came in the guard position.
