Hurricane Ida Victims Evacuate To Okawville

Brenda Galliano and her son Jason were in their house at LaPlace, Louisiana as Hurricane Ida hit the New Orleans area.

Flooding came from winds pushing water in from the lake. The home is near the levee and at a high enough elevation, so it was not flooded from a levee breech.

The house suffered wind damage. One room at the back of the house had a roof collapse. The Gallianos lost furniture and carpet in that room, but the rest of the is livable.

They spent four days at the house after Hurricane Ida hit cleaned up the damage and patched the house.
