First COVID Death in County Since March

Washington County suffered its first COVID death in almost six months last week, according to a press release from the Washington County Health Department.

A female resident in her 50s died from complications of COVID, the first death since the middle of March and the county’s 30th death since the start of the pandemic.

From August 22-29, another 51 positive tests among county residents were recorded. That brings the total number of cases in August to 203, the highest monthly total since November of last year when 371 people tested positive for the virus.
