Unit District Has Increase In Enrollment

The West Washington County Unit School district enrollment increased from 511 at the beginning of the last school year to 518 at the beginning the new school year.
Although the district has fewer kindergarten students (40) than graduating seniors last year (48), it gained because more students moved into the district than left. A total of 30 students in first through twelfth grade moved to the district since the end of the last school year.
Superintendent Keith Senior was pleased with the gain. “Going up (in enrollment) is a good thing,” he said. “We are off to a very good start of a school year.”
