County Will Increase Pay To Attract, Retain Employees
Washington County will use a federal grant to increase the pay for Ambulance paramedics and EMT’s and Dispatchers as a means to overcome the staffing shortage.
Through the American Rescue Act, the County board voted at its meeting last week to increase hourly salaries August 2021 through November 2022.
The increases include:
* Current and newly hired full-time Ambulance Dept. paramedics and EMT’s a $2.50 hour premium for
* Dispatchers that are not fully trained and certified will receive an 18 cents per hour increase. Current and newly hired full-time dispatchers will receive a $2.18 an hour premium.
